Superb staff, incredible food and delicious drinks. High quality children's menu and a play area to boot. Log fired, wood clan snug and charming staff to boot. I wish it was my local. Highly recommended!!
A family group of us went on Christmas Day for our lunch wasn't what we expected staff were very helpful and friendly it was a nice welcome with the bucks fizz but meal was a let down for the price we payed there was really no need for the bits of food in between courses no one really liked them so couldn't see the point the main meal was nice but nothing special roast potatoes sprouts were not cooked enough Yorkshire puds tasted floury all desserts were a let down and as for the coffee and chocolates coffee was nice but we expected proper chocolates but to our surprise they looked like cat droppings one of our party said and everyone was waiting for someone to try one which when tasted was awful it was just a chocolate flavoured goo piped out onto a plate don't think we will be returning
Big open pub with several nice seating areas in the bar and restaurant. We stopped on a Sunday evening and had the carvery which made for quite a filling meal. On this occasion both beef and turkey were on offer. The food is good but perhaps slightly overcooked. There was a wealth of veg options with the carvery meal. From roasted beets to mashed carrots and the service was happy to fill your plate. Service was prompt and friendly. Several large tables make it a great gathering place. Seating options make it dog friendly near the bar areas. It was clean and welcoming.
Great place to eat and drink, very friendly staff and seem to be really up to speed with gluten free. First time we have visited but it won't be the last. Highly recommended.
The welcome was prompt, lovely and warm. The main course of pork belly was hot, very tasty and a good size portion. Staff and service excellent. This is my second visit, both meals and service consistent. Would highly recommend all sorts families, young and old to spend a meal out. Lovely atmosphere too.:-)
