New management, new beginnings Dan and Jess have recently taken over this pub which had sadly turned into a shadow of its former self. The new emphasise is on good, locally sourced food. Yes you may have to wait slightly longer than you would in a chain turning out mass produced ready meals - but I can testify that the marginal wait is worth it. Dan and Jess have plans for this place and have already made a great start with the live music shows planned throughout December. This is most definitely a place to support (most important for local businesses) and one to keep an eye on. Well done Dan and Jess
We eat lunch there, today.The food was generally liked, if a little expensive.What ruined the experience was the extremely slow service, so much so, that we couldn't be bothered to wait for puddings.Life's too short!Another gripe was the extremely dirty men's toilets. The hand basin didn't encourage any sort of hand-washing!Very disappointing .
We have stayed here Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in our motorhome. Last night we had stake and it was fantastic! We had breakfast this morning with tea and coffee and the quality was fantastic. So far so good. The staff are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. I hope that the new owners do well as they are trying so hard to please. Well done to them all.
Excellent food and friendly new owners. There is a large and very varied menu, catering for all tastes at a reasonable price. The decor is being updated and dining area is now much more welcoming. We will certainly be eating there more often.
Great lunch. Very popular. Very satisfied with the whole experience. Service was excellent from friendly staff. Just need to get some decent local cider going. Fizzy stuff just not quite right in the centre of the cider universe.
